Why 300–350 GSM Ivory Board Wins for Takeout
Global Packaging Design Group utilizes a high-caliper thickness to solve common industry
pain points:
● Anti-Soggy Architecture: Standard boxes often range between 230–280 GSM. By moving to 300–350 GSM, the increased density acts as a thermal barrier. This helps maintain food temperature and prevents the structural softening caused by trapped steam.
● Pure White Advantage: SBS is white throughout. Unlike the dark interior of Kraft, which can dull the appearance of a meal, the pristine white surface acts as a canvas that makes food colors pop, enhancing the overall presentation.
● Superior Moisture Barriers: Ivory Board’s smoother surface allows for a more uniform application of PE or Aqueous coatings. This creates a more reliable shield against grease and oil leaks compared to the porous grain of standard Kraft.
